Looking for a bit more motivation for the coming season? Zwift has released two updates designed to make winter training a touch more engaging and effective.
First up is a brand-new Draft Indicator, addressing one of the community’s most demanded features. Second is a redesigned Ride Report screen that dives deeper into performance and fitness trends. Together, they’re aimed at breaking up the winter stagnation and fueling excitement for the next season.
If you’ve ever tried to sit in a fast Zwift race or hold onto a pack without exploding, you know the challenge: “Am I actually in the draft or just pretending?” The new Draft Indicator removes the guesswork. A visual bar renders exactly how much shelter you’re receiving from the rider ahead.
The indicator works across all scenarios: flat-pack racing, pace-partner sessions, and climbing with a wheel in tow. It’s intuitive and straightforward, a feature racers will likely adopt immediately.
New Ride Report
Zwift has also launched a complete redesign of the post-ride summary. It presents your session as a proper training file, bringing consistency with other platforms.
After each ride, you’ll now see:
- Weekly goal progression
- Training score and training status
- Streak totals
- Career level, XP gains, and upgrade progress
The Training Score combines intensity, duration, and frequency into a single metric. Training Status places you into one of these zones: Ready, Fresh, Productive, Overreaching, or Detraining. These tools help you know when to push and when to back off, which is especially useful during the holiday season when rides can swing between feast and famine.
For the data enthusiasts, Zwift tracks one-year personal bests for 5 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, and 20 minutes power, plus FTP, Race Score, and pacing metrics.
What about bike upgrades? Upgrades now have their own progress tracker. Each frame has five tiers to unlock, and you can clearly see how far you are from the next upgrade without digging through menus.
All of these features connect to Zwift Companion. Users will be able to view live long-term graphs and trends.
Availability
Both the Draft Indicator and the updated Progress Report are live in game version 1.104. If you spend any amount of time on Zwift—whether it’s winter base miles, group rides, workouts, structured training, squad races, or holiday escapes—these updates should make Zwift feel more tactical, more informative, and ultimately more rewarding.
