Summer Fall 2026: Who's Hosting the Watch Parties?
"We never intended to host a grand spectacle, but here we are, preparing for our most significant event," Zomer's Danial Aitouganov revealed.
This sentiment is well-founded. The Théâtre du Châtelet, a 2,000-plus-seat venue, was brimming with industry guests and fashion enthusiasts for the inaugural Watch Party, an innovative concept that seamlessly integrated into the main show. The audience's excitement was palpable as they witnessed themselves on the giant stage, akin to a kiss cam, adding a unique twist to the experience.
This creative approach to accessibility was a backdrop for the impressive Zomer collection. The design duo, Aitouganov and Imruh Asha, initiated the season's creation by inviting their team to bring their favorite pieces, which they dubbed 'Zomified'.
The collection showcased a diverse range of styles. Asymmetric A-line skirts, inspired by kilts, featured partial openings. Smart shirts with layered collars and sleeves offered adjustable, playful designs. Dresses were spliced with floral print godets, transforming the look from serious to swingy. Crombie coats were enhanced with contrasting silky sack backs, and some even featured integrated blankets, blending comfort and style.
The collection also included more straightforward options. Sharp-shouldered, long coats with oversized leather collars and jersey dresses with striking structural details transformed fluid materials into flattering, form-fitting structures. While these pieces may not have the same social media allure as last season's hair grip top, they are likely to endure and remain popular.
"We don't need to create viral trends every season," Aitouganov stated. "A more realistic approach is acceptable." The collection proved that reality can be both captivating and visually appealing, offering a wealth of interesting details without sacrificing practicality.
