German 10-Year Bunds: A Smart Investment Choice
When yields on German 10-year Bunds surpass 2.70%, they become an attractive buy, according to Commerzbank Research's Christoph Rieger. Rieger advises, "We still prefer scaling into Bund setbacks above 2.7% in 10-year yields with modest targets."
The 10-year Bund yield currently sits at 2.697%, showing minimal fluctuation, as per Tradeweb data. Interestingly, Monday's disappointing German Ifo business sentiment data only provided a temporary boost to Bunds, indicating their resilience despite economic headwinds.
U.S. Treasury Yields: A Marginal Rise Ahead of Key Data
In the Asian trade, U.S. Treasury yields have seen a slight increase across various maturities, with key economic indicators set to be released later in the day. The purchasing price index, retail sales for September, and consumer confidence data for November are among the highlights. Danske Bank's August Hyldgaard notes, "With few other data prints on the agenda, the market reaction could be larger than usual and may very well affect sentiment surrounding the FOMC December meeting."
The two-year Treasury yield has risen by 0.8 basis points to 3.496%, while the 10-year Treasury yield is up 0.4 basis points at 4.039%, as per Tradeweb data.
