Ram Trucks and Kaulig Racing are bringing a unique twist to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2026. They've announced a reality-show competition to determine the fifth and final driver for Ram's team. This bold move, titled 'Race for the Seat', will be a thrilling eight-episode journey, premiering on FOX on January 25th and continuing on Ram's YouTube channel until February 6th. The winner will secure a full-season ride with Kaulig Racing, joining the manufacturer's return to NASCAR competition in the Craftsman Truck Series opener at Daytona International Speedway on February 13th.
The show will feature UFC CEO Dana White, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis, and Kaulig Racing team principals Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice, offering insightful commentary. The competition will take place at various tracks, including Virginia International Raceway and South Boston Speedway. This isn't just about raw talent; it's about providing opportunities and creating a platform for undiscovered potential. As Kuniskis states, 'Sometimes raw talent isn’t enough. Many successful careers start with an opportunity, a lucky break — or in my case, a good old-fashioned kick in the ass.'
The lineup for Kaulig Racing's Truck Series team is now complete. Three full-time drivers, Brendan 'Butterbean' Queen, Daniel Dye, and Justin Haley, will join two wild-card Ram entries. The No. 25 entry will be a rotating group of drivers through Ram's Free Agent Driver Program, while the No. 14 slot, according to promotional images, is reserved for the 'Race for the Seat' champion. Ram's return to NASCAR competition was announced in June, with a promise of a new, full-throttle approach, and their partnership with Kaulig Racing was officially revealed in August, planning a five-truck operation in 2026.
