One UI 8.5 Beta: New Features & What's New on Samsung Galaxy! (2026)

Samsung rolls out One UI 8.5 Beta, promising a smoother, more secure Galaxy experience across devices. The new version focuses on making creation, connection, and protection easier, with smarter tools that speed up everyday tasks while boosting privacy and performance.

One UI 8.5: Enhanced Content Creation
Creating and sharing content becomes more natural from start to finish. The updated Photo Assist keeps generating new images without breaks, and editing can continue without the need to save every iteration. When you’re done, you can review everything in edit history and mark your favorites for quick access.

Sharing also gets a boost. Quick Share now recognizes people in photos and can automatically suggest sending the image directly to those contacts, making distribution faster and more convenient.

One UI 8.5: Better Device Connectivity
Cross-device features are designed to streamline management, file sharing, network access, and interactions with nearby devices. Audio Broadcast supports LE Audio-enabled devices via Auracast, allowing not only audio from media sources but also your Galaxy phone’s microphone for spoken broadcasts—handy for tours, events, or group activities.

Storage Share expands Galaxy’s ecosystem by surfacing files from other Galaxy devices (tablets and PCs) inside the My Files app. It also enables access to your phone’s files from other Samsung devices, including TVs.

One UI 8.5: Stronger Protection
To tighten security, Failed Authentication Lock automatically secures the screen after too many unsuccessful fingerprint, PIN, or password attempts. The Identity check feature extends protection to more settings than before, adding another defensive layer.

Availability
The One UI 8.5 beta begins rolling out to Galaxy S25 series users in select markets—Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the United States—starting December 8. Canada’s availability for the beta has not been confirmed.

Notes and disclosures:
1 Generative Edit in Photo Assist requires an active Samsung account and network connection; results may resize images and include a watermark indicating AI origin. Actual user interface may differ.
2 Quick Share requires One UI 2.1+ and Android Q or newer, with both Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi‑Fi active. Real-world speeds vary by device and network conditions.
3 The new Audio Broadcast feature is limited to Galaxy S25 devices (S25, S25+, S25 Ultra) and may differ by region.
4 Cross-device storage sharing requires all involved devices signed into the same Samsung account and enabled Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth, with compatible hardware and software versions. Availability varies by model and region.

Question for readers: Do these enhancements change how you’d plan a multi-device workflow on a Galaxy ecosystem, or do you prefer separate tools for creation, sharing, and security? Share your thoughts in the comments.
