Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 RELEASE DATE! Culling Game Arc Finally Arrives! (2025)

The highly anticipated third season of the hit anime series Jujutsu Kaisen is finally here! But this time, it's not just a new season; it's a whole new game. Prepare yourself for the thrilling debut of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1, coming to your screens on January 8th. And here's where it gets exciting: the anime will air on the 'Super Animeism TURBO' programming block, bringing an intense viewing experience to fans worldwide.

But wait, there's more! Crunchyroll, the global streaming giant, has announced that it will also debut the anime on the same day, exclusively worldwide, excluding Asia. This means fans outside Asia can enjoy the new episodes simultaneously with Japan. And if you're a fan of the Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution compilation film, you're in for a treat. TOHO animation is streaming a video preview of Kōji Yusa as Naoya Zen'in, a character from the compilation film that opened in Japan on the same day.

The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen promises to be an action-packed adventure, with a talented cast and crew returning to bring the story to life. Junya Enoki, Yūma Uchida, Daisuke Namikawa, and Megumi Ogata reprise their roles as Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Choso, and Yuta Okkotsu, respectively. Shōta Goshozono, known for his work on JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Movie and Ranking of Kings, returns to direct the series at MAPPA. Hiroshi Seko, the writer of Ajin and DAN DA DAN, oversees and writes the series scripts. Animation directors Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa are back, but this time, they're designing the characters. And to top it all off, Yoshimasa Terui, the composer of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX and Hi Score Girl, will create the music for this highly anticipated season.

The first season of Jujutsu Kaisen premiered in October 2020, with a total of 24 episodes. The series has since become a global phenomenon, with the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 anime film opening in Japan in December 2021 and later in the U.S. and Canada in March 2022. The second season, which premiered in July 2023, aired for two cours, adapting the 'Hidden Inventory / Premature Death' and 'Shibuya Incident' arcs from Gege Akutami's original manga. And now, with the third season on the horizon, fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of this epic tale.

But here's where it gets controversial: some fans have expressed concerns about the pacing of the second season, especially with the 'Shibuya Incident' arc. With 18 episodes dedicated to this arc, some viewers felt that the story could have been told in fewer episodes. And this is the part most people miss: the importance of character development and world-building. While some may prefer a faster pace, others appreciate the time taken to explore the characters and the world they inhabit. So, what's your take? Do you prefer a fast-paced anime or one that takes its time to develop the story and characters? Let us know in the comments below!
